A CTL Roundtable Discussion

Although STEM subjects have a reputation for being numbers-driven, impersonal, and isolated from social or political topics, politics is ingrained in scientific life in a variety of ways, from cultural bias in scientific studies to funding research topics. What role do we—as educators and science communicators—have in addressing these topics in our classroom? What topics are appropriate, and what are ways in which we can address these topics of "difficult knowledge" in the classroom in a meaningful way?
